During the Second World War Rotary became the official watch supplier for the British Army, this meant that a Rotary watch ended up in almost every household in the UK and left a lasting impression of the brand on the British public. The watch has subtle features that honour the armed forces and the Royal British Legion including colouring the 11th hour and the 11th day in red, and placing a poppy at 12 o’clock and on the crown.Įach model is inscribed with the Legion’s ‘Thank You’ logo on the reverse of the watch, which represents the charity’s movement to say thank you to all who served, sacrificed and changed our world during the First World War. The iconic Rotary logo was introduced in 1925 and it has only undergone minor changes since. In the 100 th anniversary year since the end of The Great War, Rotary is supporting the armed forces charity the Royal British Legion by producing a limited edition timepiece that will raise money for the organisation. British watchmaker Rotary has a 100 year-old association with the British armed forces, having produced wristwatches for infantrymen who fought in the trenches of World War I and becoming an official watch supplier to the Army in World War II.
